The Impact Series

The Impact series is a film and speaker series, focused on social change. Conceived to bring people together and take action, the platform scales a discussion for the purpose of change.

I was approached to create the logo and marketing materials for the launch of the brand. The challenge was to distill the name into a single mark that would communicate social change and impact. While multiple concepts were presented, there was a clear winner that answered the creative brief.  After several iterations, I noticed that the words “I Act” can be created from the company name.
This proved to be the most elegant solution that spoke to the idea that individual action needs to be taken to cause change.  Visually, I wanted the mark to have an enclosed shape. Inspired by the clapperboard often used in film, the final mark fits nicely into a square lockup and allows for a versatile application. The mark is also inspired by protest signs, with the type set in all capitals with a reddish color to the words “I Act”.

Along with the mark, I created a series of posters that further reinforce the idea of action on an individual level. Placing a portrait of an individual in between the words “I Act” clearly communicates the target idea.
